The Constitution

The Comus Executive committee drafted a new constitution in 2006 which was adopted by the club at the AGM of that year. It was designed to clearly state all the rules needed to run the society and it's affairs. It is necessary to demonstrate to College and our bankers that the organization has purpose and has responsible governance.

The original foundings of our club is a delightfully artistic and witty piece of poetic expression. We have two versions that you can read for yourself - The Constitution of the COMUS Club 1983 amended and 1962. The original constitution demonstrated the membership's ability to draft in blank verse and to split hairs.
